Spatially distributed as opposed to temporally distributed? But it continues to exist in time, so, it is also temporally distributed.
What does spatially distributed mean other than "It exists in one or more locations" like all matter in the universe?

Organic matter, i.e. originating from once-living matter.
Spatially distributed: i.e. found in many locations, so unlikely to be a contaminant introduced by the rover, and therefore adding weight to the theory that there was once life on Mars.

> Organic matter, i.e. originating from once-living matter.
No, it means matter composed of organic compounds[1]. It categorically does not in this instance mean originating from once-living matter.
they are carefull to give a nuetral label to there data, but are coy about it by including bio derived examples in there expanded definition, which is fair as the mission is to look for signs of life.
macromolecular carbon (MMC)
"MMC is a solid, cross-linked network of primarily reduced carbon that is resistant to chemical and thermal decomposition and is insoluble and nonlabile. MMC may have different degrees of structural order and includes aromatic and aliphatic structures that may have substituted heteroatoms or functional groups. We note that, in general, the use of the term “MMC” serves to avoid implications of biogenicity, whereas the terms “kerogen” and “bitumen” typically implicate past life or a biogenic source"

> Although in situ Raman analyses cannot determine whether these organics denote abiotic or biotic sources, the organic association with both depositional and diagenetic minerals and the detection of organics on the martian surface suggests that the organics observed ubiquitously at the Bright Angel outcrop may be resistant to radiation and oxidation or have been relatively recently exposed.
